Not safe to use, without the airflow.
You probably need a new blower motor.
Before mine went out, it only worked on high, for a while. If that happened to yours, it's a pretty good bet, it's the blower motor.
Before you take it to the shop, check the fuse for the blower motor.
Check the blower fan fuse first, then check the fan motor speed dropping resistor low speed coil.
See a mechanic before you lose all your savings changing parts and hoping it fixes the problem.
The heater "works" simply because all it is is the hot coolant from the engine circulating through the heater core.
Test for 12 volts at the blower motor connector.
If you don't have a test light or volt meter turn the key on… Turn the blower on HI… Then hit the blower motor housing with a 2x4 or something that will jar it. That sometimes gets a failing blower motor going again. If that works install a new blower motor.
Fuse or motor burn out.

- Truck stopped accelerating then stopped? I was going 40 then I noticed the mph was going down. So I pressed the gas down and it didn't do anything. I'm guessing the engine died because I pulled over and turned the truck off, then tried turning it back on and it didn't. It makes the noise it makes when your truck is just out of battery. - 2006 Ford Escape Cruise Control just stopped working? Never had a problem with my cruise control, then one week the cruise control would stay on for a short distance after setting it. Within the week, the cruise control just stopped working altogether. Any advice and ideas if may be would be great. I'd like to try and figure this out on my own before thinking of taking it to a dealership and have them charge me a lot of money for possibly a simple fix.
