Advice on buying new mid-size sedan?

I'm in the process of looking for a new sedan. I'm considering new and used options, but I think I will go with a new one just because I drive a lot and I plan on owning my car until it stops working, or hits close to 200k miles.

Here are my options:
1.) 2018 Kia Optima SX
2.) 2018 Mazda 6 i Grand Touring
3.) 2018 Ford Fusion Titanium
4.) 2018 Ford Fusion Sport

What are the pros and cons of each, and ultimately which would be the best decision?

I want a reliable, powerful car.

If not new, I would consider those same options (beside the sport) in the year of 2016.

Thanks!

(My previous car was a 2012 Ford Fusion SE, which has never given me any major issues and was a pleasure to own.)

Kia&mazda sucks, FORD rocks!

Stick with FORD, you'll be glad you did.

It is a toss up. I would pick the Mazda.

In the mid-sized sedan category the Optima comes in #6, the Mazda Mazda6 8th, and the Ford Fusion 10th.

The latter

You are totally overlooking the 2 most reliable cars you can buy. The Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. They are hands down better cars than any on your list.

It is a toss up. I would pick the Mazda.

The major loss due to depreciation happens the moment the paper work is signed on a brand new car! If you can find either the Fusion or the Mazda 6 used or a marked down 2017 go that way.
For the final authority on which car to buy- consider the Consumers Reports reliability reports!
The reason I'm hesitant about the Mazda is I'm not sure how the Fiat relationship is working out. Fiat is not a dependable car company. If Mazda becomes more like Fiat then I would not own one.

  • Aren't you amazed by the capabilities and the size of today's full-size pickup trucks? I drive a 2011 Ford Ranger XLT 4x2 with a 4.0 liter V6 (~245 ci.) engine. I was looking up the specs for early-mid 1960s F100s (considered full-size), and they have nearly the same GVWR, towing capacity, payload, horsepower, wheelbase, and height as my "compact" truck. In your opinion, do you think today's full-size trucks are amazing or too fancy/over-sized (a traditionalist like me)? P.S.: I like all American vehicles
  • I need a little advice in buying a new car? I have a great steady job and I can afford to buy a car from the dealership. It is the first time I ever go to a dealership for a car. I'm just wondering if there's any good reliable brands you can recommend to look out for? How is Ford, in your opinion? Also, what are the next steps one takes after buying a new car? Tags, plates, and insurance right?
  • 03 ford focus SPI single headcam. The temp. Gauge does not stay mid of the gauge? It is always little bit closer to cold side than warm side even after driving 40 miles. No engine light is on. Any idea?
  • Can I use a p195/60r15 tire size than the p185/60r15 on my car (ford fiesta 2013 sedan)? The type of all season tires I'm interested in on the Goodyear site isn't avail. For the p185/60r15, only on the p195/60r15. When I entered my car info on the search bar it said that more than one tire size can fit my car but I wanted to be sure. What's the difference between the sizes and will it affect my car?
