2011 Ford Fusion. Replaced serpentine belt and now it shakes really bad when drove. Motor mount? Still starts and runs?

I have 2011 Ford Fusion. The serpentine belt broke while my husband was driving, going 75 on the interstate. He pulled over as soon as he noticed that it said it was overheating. He replaced the serpentine belt but when he put the car in drive, it shakes really bad. He first thought it was a broke motor mount but now we re not sure. It still starts and moves but we're leary about driving it. The check engine light is on and pulled up the following codes at Advanced Auto: p1299, p0625, p1285. Any help is appreciated. This is our family car.

The PCM is likely in fail safe mode. The codes will shut down some of the injectors at first which is why you are feeling the shaking. The next thing that happens if the over heating problem is not fixed is the PCM will shut down all of the injectors and leave you stranded.
You need to erase the codes to get out of fail safe mode.
Make sure to check the antifreeze level in the radiator in case over heating the motor blew coolant out of the system.
If you don't have a code reader that can erase the codes take the battery cables off the battery and hold them together for 1 minute.
The idle speed will likely need to be relearned by the PCM after doing this so if the idle speed is off just drive for 15 minutes and the PCM will automatically relearn the idle speed. The rough running while driving should go away after touching the battery cables together.

Clear the codes with a scan tool and see if the issue goes away. The codes (cylinder hear sensor error and no alternator output) likely came up when the serpentine belt broke. Issue does not go away, it is time to see a professional mechanic.

The harmonic balancer has been know to 'come apart' on those cars…

Take off the belt and check all the pulleys to make sure none is stuck. If any is stuck, that accessory needs replacing. Overheating that engine can damage it seriously. Check for a blown head gasket. That can be fixed, but it's expensive. It is not a motor mount making the shaking. I think the engine isn't running on all its cylinders.

  • Car shakes still? My 94 Ford Taurus shakes on the highway. 65-80 mph and after 80 it stops? I've gotten new tie rods, a realignment, new breaks, and resurfaced rotors, and it still happens to shake even though the mechanic said that the problem was the rotors being warped. Before I spend more money on the damned thing I was wondering if anyone here had some insight to why it's still shaking on the highway. One thing I've noticed is that when I accelerate a chirping sound ensues and chirps faster as I go faster? Any ideas? Please?

  • How to put on a serpentine belt on a 99 ford contour with a 2.0l vct engine? My serpentine belt snapped so I went to advanced auto parts and bought a new belt. I have looked at the belt diagram on my car and it does not match my pulley system so I tried to put the belt through the pulleys and there's a lot of extra slack at the bottom can anyway give me the correct diagram or help me out?
  • I drove my Ford Fusion through really deep flood waters and I'm worried I was stuck out in a bad position where I had no choice but to drive through flood water. My car seems fine today, however you can never be too sure and I heard it's possible to have long term damage. What should I look out for?
