2011 ford fusion no working tail lights?
Brake lights and turn signals work. Bulbs have been changed and all known fuses have been changed… What could be the problem
You may have mistakenly installed the wrong bulbs.
Let me explain.
Certain bulbs, especially on cars, have TWO filaments in one bulb. One filament is for running lights at night and the other filament is for brakes.
They even fit the same socket. You can check by removing the bulb and look for TWO filaments. If there's only one, then that's the problem.
The 2 types are NOT the same, a single filament one has 2 pins opposite each other on the base, a 2 filament has 2 pins offset, so the 2 types can't be mixed (they hope). But heavy- handedness often forces a single- filament into a 2- filament socket (or vice versa).
You could have a fault in the taillight switch section of your light switch, or a broken connector or wire.
Take it to an expert.
Check the switch located behind the brake pedal its attached to the arm where the foot pedal is look under the dash and you will see it just above the foot pad sometimes they get gunk ed up and can be cleaned but i myself would get a new one
- Why are my blink lights / brake lights working? I have a 72 Ford f100 and the rear left turn signal, brake ligh, hazard light isn't working. The light workings for "running lights " but does not blink or light up when I press the brake. I replaced the bulb. I don't know where to start
- 98 ford taurus stuck in gear tail lights won't come on? Everything was fine till I had a taillight out changed it it came on then started it wouldn't come out of gear and tail lights don't work
- How to put the wiring harness back on a 93 ford ranger for the tail lights after I put the bed back on? How do I put the wiring harness back on a 93 ford ranger for the tail lights after I put the bed back on?
- 99 Ford ranger XLT base model. Park lights, dash lights, and license plates lights out I checked online and realized it was probably a fuse which it is. Fuse 11 in my power distribution box. The problem is I keep replacing at and soon as I turn on my lights it blows instantly. Have replaced it multiple times. So then I looked under my truck and disconnected the wiring to my taillights and replaced the fuse, it worked it didn't blow. Dash lights and license plates lights were on so I figured some where there's a problem with the brake lights. Any suggestions?
