2010 Ford Fusion sync problems?

I just bought a pre-owned 2010 Ford Fusion. The car has the phone button however whenever I press it, it only shows "no phone" but doesn't show any menu options. The "no phone" display stays up for about 5 seconds then goes back. I've seen many tutorials that once you hit he phone button a menu is supposed pop up allowing you to add a device but nothing other than "no phone" shows up. Is there a way to reset this or something else I need to press on order to add my iPhone 7?

The phone button doesn't necessarily mean you have sync.

From page 36 of your owner's manual.

"(Phone): If your vehicle is equipped with SYNC, press to access
SYNC PHONE features. For further information, please refer to the
SYNC information included with your vehicle for further information.
If your vehicle is not equipped with SYNC, the display will read NO
PHONE."

It would appear that your car does not have sync. Back then Sync was not available on the base model (S) Fusion, was optional on the mid-level trim (SE) and was standard on the high end model (SEL)
