Ford 500 Limited a/c and heater malfunction?
Whenever I start my car during the day, the A/C comes on automatically and I can't shut it off for a few minutes. Likewise, at night, the heater comes on and it takes a few minutes before it allows me to shut it off.
I assume it's some climate control issue. Maybe I pushed a button on my dashboard?
Recently, when the air is on during these few minutes, the car occasionally lurches a bit. Not so that anyone watching from the outside would notice, but I feel it.
Any ideas what it could be?
We also have a 500 Limited - ours with the automatic temp control & driver/passenger settings. Ours dosen't behave as yours… I would suspect a vacuum leak among all the hoses in the controls. Try turning the system completely off when you park it - listen for vacuum leak when you shut off engine and likewise when you restart next time. I don't have a shop manual which I'm sure includes a diagnoses procedure. If it becomes a real problem - the dealer will be an expensive place to sort it out… Fortunately, most independent garages also have online repair programs.

- Heater isn't hot enough in my car, is there a way to make the heater better? I drive a 1998 Ford Taurus Wagon, the heater on it is alright but when it's 10 degrees outside it kinda sucks. Is there an actual way to make your heater hotter?
- My ford 500 limited series won't pick up speed when i try to accelerate. I was told it was my air intake system? A mechanic told me to replace the throttle body. I'm not too educated on cars but i know i would have to buy the throttle body, hose, and maybe gasket. Few questions, is the gasket important to replace as well? Besides those listed part is there something else i need to get?
- 2005 ford mustang windshield wiper blade malfunction AC unite malfunction I have a 2005 ford mustang both the wiper blade and the AC unite malfunction of from time to time but will driving and a had then both them both turned on on both did not work the at the same moment the turned on. And worked perfectly.
- 3005 ford 500 with AWD Malfunction? Mine turned out to be the AWD oil pump, $900 at the dealer to get fixed. No regular garage or trans shop would touch the car, not even Volvo (It's a Volvo drive train, which should of never been put on that car at the factory). The trans is acting up now, and the cheapest estamit from a trans shop is $5000, which the car woldn't even be worth that after. My advise is to never by a Ford, they make crap.
