What is an optimal sound system for a 2002 Ford Focus?
I was just wanting a nice sound system for my car. I want a subwoofer also. Affordable price range and stuff but I would just like some suggestions.
2 speakers in the front doors, 2 in the instrument board in the front, 2 in the rear and 1 subwoofer in the trunk. With that the sound should be distributed well. The speakers in the instrument board in the front are mostly for the higher tones for fidelty and that sparkling. The rear speakers make it sound like beeing in a concert hall. The "optimal" sound system makes voices and instruments sound as if they were there in real.
in my experience kenwood builds great sound systems and price isn't high, that should suit for a 2002 ford focus. Of course its possible to spend a high amount$ for a sound system, for that the factory Burmester is a good address. Crutchfield.com. All top quality. I don't think the anonymous answerer has ANY clue about how to build a good sounding system in a car. What he/she describes will probably be loud, but would have little if any expectation to sound good.
Unless you are capable of and planning to do a MASSIVE amount of equalization and time alignment - having numerous speakers in a car is counter-productive.
A typical sound quality set up has one high quality pair of speakers in the front of the vehicle -- typically a component set, 2 small woofers, 2 tweeters -- along with one quality subwoofer in the rear.
Rear speakers are used as "fill" often running off very low power (~20w) relative to the rest of the system. In many cases -- especially when rear seat balance isn't a priority -- rear speakers will be done away with entirely.

- What sound system should I add to my 2003 Ford Mustang 2 door, 6 cylinder, 3.8L? I don't know much about cars and audio systems but I was looking to add a good audio system to my car. I basically want the car sound to be a lot louder, but sill be clear. I also want a stronger bass. Basically I want the car to be able to shake if I want it to. I looked into the Mach 1000 audio system but not sure if that s good or what to get with it if you even do that. Like I said, I'm not a car literate person.
- Does the 101a Sync 3 Package in the Ford Mustang upgrade the sound system? I know it adds 3 extra speakers but is the sound system or sound quality any better than the base sound system?
- 2001 Ford KA sound system upgrade? I've just bought a ford KA and want to get a sound upgrade for it, although I know nothing about cars. I don't want to get a subwoofer but I don't know what my other options are. I've been looking at stereos but will this actually improve the sound or is it just there to look cool? Any help/ suggestions appreciated
- How to connect iPod to sound system on 2005 Ford Fiesta? I recently bought a 2005 Ford Fiesta second hand and want to be able to play music from my iPhone through the car's speakers. Everywhere I look says to get an auxiliary cable, but I don't have an auxiliary input jack in my car. Just a 12 Volt Power Source which I assume doesn't connect to the sound system. Surely there's an alternative that allows me to connect to my car's speakers? What would I have to purchase? Open to any and all suggestions.
