V serial numbers are Ford dealers ONLY. No other means, unless you find it recorded in your owner's manual and papers that came with the car, where it is, for new cars. The paper often is lost or misplaced by the time it makes it to the second or later owners.

FORD V SERIAL NUMBER CODES
If your radio has the Ford V Serial Number then it will not normally be available for free as access is required to the Ford factory database (unless you can blag it for free from Ford)
