How many miles after gas light comes on do I have left?

I have a Ford Focus Zts, 02'. After the gas light comes on, how much longer do I have until it completely runs out of gas? (as far as miles). Just wondering.

Usually it's 50.

Most cars when the gas light comes on it means you have 2 gallons give or take. So take your gas mileage and multiply it times 2. That's about how long you have given you don't punch the gas a lot.

Also buy running your car that low on fuel all the time you are shortening the life of your fuel pump. It is in the tank and cooled by gasoline… Your best to get in the habit of filling when you get down to about 1/4 tank left and not run it empty.

I'd say 25 miles is a safe number to expect to get. The more weight you have in the vehicle will lower that number.

Add to SandN's advise once you find the gas station fill the tank full.
Subtract the amount you just put in the tank from the total amount of fuel the tank holds (see the owner manual specifications section). That will tell you how much fuel (approximately) was still in the tank - keep in mind you can't really fill a tank all the way up or run all of the fuel out (there will be approx 1/2 gallon at either end of the spectrum not accounted for but at least it will give you a good idea of approximated how far you can travel after the light comes on.
