Is it possible to get a sunroof installed by Ford?

So I have a 2014 Ford Focus. Love the car to death and when I bought it I just needed a car and don't care what it was as long as it was relatively new. After two years of owning it I really want a sunroof and now that spring is upon us it would be really nice. I recently rented a BMW with one and I hated to give it back obviously. I know many would say just get a new car but I just don't want to start over on car payments again. Can I just buy a factory one and have it installed at a dealership? I don't care how much it costs. I hear aftermarket leak so I'd rather not but I have a garage so not super worried.

It would cost a small fortune. And it would only be possible if it has a bolt in roof.

A "factory" sun roof is one that is installed at the factory during manufacture. I don't know that dealer can or will install one for you. Aftermarket sun roofs are notorious for leaking.

Ford does not, and will not, offer such an installation. The process of installing an OEM sunroof is performed while the vehicle is still on the assembly line, it can't be performed at a Ford dealership. Your one and only option would be to have a aftermarket sunroof installed.

The sum of putting a "factory installed" roof will be not worth it, since you can't ship it back to Mexico (where it was assembled) and expect the workers to cut off the roof, replace it with a new one, since there has been a subtle redesign. Find a place that does aftermarket roofs and provides a GUARANTEE against LEAKS!

No. Your friendly local Ford automobile dealership Can't install a "factory original" sunroof on your car. The ONLY way to get one of those is to BUY a car with the factory sunroof already installed.

It MAY be possible to have an aftermarket sunroof installed, but those not only look cheap, they are notorious for leaking when it rains, and are NOT all that great for any other purpose. If you STILL want one installed in your 2014 Focus, then go visit a few local auto body shops and find out about costs.

Of course, I'm certain that your friendly local Ford dealer would be HAPPY to sell you a Brand NEW 2016 Focus with a sun roof that WAS installed from the factory.

Anything not done at the factory is considered aftermarket so even if the Ford dealer installed it, the sunroof will still likely leak.

The only other option is to replace the entire roof. Find a car at a junk yard with a sunroof, buy the roof, have a body shop replace the entire old roof with a new roof that includes a sunroof.

Body shops can do this work, they do it all the time. I had a roof replaced on a van from excessive hail damage. Instead of fixing 2500 dents they cut the roof off and installed a new one.

You can have an after market sunroof installed but not from ford.
