Is it normal to feel the shift changes in 4 cylinder 2012 ford focus?
I just bought a 2012 ford focus which was certified pre owned. I also got it inspected my Meineke before I purchased it. The Carfax has regular maintenance and its very clean. ONLY thing is when I accelerate from a stop, I can feel the change of the gears shifting. It a few seconds of gears changing. I'm used to a v6 engine and that is all I have ever driven. It was always smooth and quick to get up to a high speed. Is this problem normal for a 4 cylinder or what?
I would say it's normal. To satisfy your curiosity, got test drive a different 2012 Ford Focus to see if it feels the same. In general, you're going to feel it shift. It's an econo box car, not a Bentley.
Each car is different. But as long as it doesn't shift hard (go "BAM!") you should be fine.
Yes, in most smaller cars you can feel the shifting more notably than in a bigger car.
Normal.
Yes. I have the same car and the transmission sucks. They did do a recall on it. You should check to see if that was taken care of.
It's a dual-clutch automated manual transmission, not a traditional automatic. The shifts are more pronounced that on a typical automatic. Ford did have a problem with the shifting being too abrupt for some people's sensibilities, so they did have a software update for the transmission.
This has nothing to do with the engine at all.
- 1997 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 won't shift into drive after being driven. Takes longer than should to shift into drive when first started? It will go in reverse fine. First thing in the morning when I leave for work, it will shift into drive on it's own, but takes a bit longer than it should. After getting it warm, won't shift into drive at all. I can shift down to 1st or 2nd, then back into drive and it will "pop up" into drive within a second or 2. I also have a ODB2 error P1744 (Torque Converter circuit).
- I have a 2007 Ford Five hundred that when I shift when it's off it moves. But when I turn the car on & shift it won't move It's a TBS transmission. It's not making any noise either. I was told it could be computer on the transmission?
- How to remove ignition switch Cylinder from 98 ford crown victoria if the ignition cylinder is stuck? I have a 98 crown Victoria. And i used a wrong key by mistake yesterday and now my actual key won't work. I've tried removing the ignition lock cylinder but any video i watch on Youtube tells me to turn the key to replace ignition lock cylinder but i can't do that because its jammed. I've tried jiggling the steering wheel and turning the key but no luck. Pretty sure its the ignition lock cylinder but i can't get the damn thing out without turning the key
- 2012 Ford Select Shift transmission? I have a 2012 Ford Fusion Sport AWD with this ''Select-shift transmission'' thing. I know how it works, but what are the configurations of it? How many gears can I go into, and or start off from?
