Is a slide hammer enough to remove a cv axle from a transmission?
Ford focus 06 drivers side- manual transmission
Generally that is more than adequate. 95% of the time, I just need a small pry bar to pop them out in general. Often if a slide hammer is needed the interior circlip is probably jammed, and you may damage the spline on the axle, so a new inner CV may be needed
You shouldn't need a slide hammer, period!
It's called a driveshaft puller.
