In my car the one of the bottom radiator hoses has a huge split in it & leaking everywhere, how much and how hard is it to fix it myself?

Or is it one of those complicated things where it needs to go to a repair shop?

My car is a 2001 Ford Focus btw

As far as cost. It will just be the cost of the new hose and radiator fluid to refill the cooling system. The top hose is quite easy to do. But the bottom can be quite a bit of a pain in the ***, due to the location. So you migth have to remove some stuff to gain access to it.

$30 and it will be a piece of cake

You are asking people that can do this in their sleep. We have no idea what you are capable of. Are you skinny enough to fit in tight spaces? Do you own a hose clamp pliers? Do you know what a car parts house is?

EASY TO FIX GO TO AN AUTO STORE AND THEY CAN SELL YOU THE RIGHT HOSE AND IT JUST TAKES A SCREWDRIVER TO LOOSEN THE CLAMPS AND REPLACE THE HOSE.

When a person doesn't know how to call or visit an auto parts store with the year, make, model, and motor size information needed to buy the correct part with. There's problem #1.
When a person can't open the hood to locate where the hose clamps are that fasten the bad radiator hose so that the hose can be removed you have problem #2.
Problem #3 is you're asking us to judge if you have the smarts to replace the hose yourself. I redirect you to the first sentence of my reply.

It is easy to replace and should only cost about $10 for hose and new clamps. You should also replace he coolant with factory specified type which should cost an additional $5.

Easy to change, you will see two hose clips holding it on, unscrew them and take the.old hose, so you get a new one the same. Put it on screw up the clips and fill with coolant. You may need to burb the system by squeezing the top hose

My granddaughter taught me something the other day!
You-tube it!
To correct a few items others have written:
1. The stock clamps do not have a way to be removed with a screw driver- it takes plies.
2. It is not difficult to do, but it is dirty.
3. You will need a replacement hose and replacement anti-freeze.
Here is a clip on how to do the job:

Go to an auto parts store, tell them the make/model/and engine size, should get a couple new clamps and some anti-freeze while your there. Is a simple task to install.

If you can figure out how to remove the split hose, then surely you can install a replacement.

The question is: Do you know how to obtain a replacement hose?
