I need help, how can I get my car out of the tow yard?

So on 1/16/19 I got into an accident, my fault. The guy hit and ran. Anyways, I had to get my car towed because It was immobile. Well my insurance won't cover the charges to take my car out, and the insurance investigator won't see my car until Wednesday. My question is, I don't have the money to pay go get my car out, I'm still financing my car it's a 2014 ford focus st, is there a way to get my car out of the yard, I can't afford to pay it. I just don't have that kind of money, I never put money aside for something like this. I talked to my insurance (Allstate) and they're no help. They say we're in good hands but I don't know where I'm in good hands. Is there other options?

Sneak into the yard and set fire to your car don't get caught.

If you have collision coverage your insurance company owes the towing charge as well as storage charges until the adjuster determines if the vehicle is repair able or a total loss. What I don't understand is why you feel you "have to get the car out."

Since your car is being financed, you should have collision coverage on it. You don't need to get it out of the tow yard. Allstate will handle it after they have appraised the damage.

You are going to need to pay your deductible. Start saying your money and work extra to get the money to coverage this portion of the costs. Otherwise, you won't able to get your car repaired.

Since you have a financed car, you should have full coverage, which means your insurance will pay for the damages (minus) your deductible and YES, they will pay for the towing and storage costs.

But, my guess is that (until) the appraiser sees the car and then writes an estimate, then they will move your car to either a body shop or a salvage yard if they deem it to be a total loss. The key is they don't want to pay (twice) to tow/move it again. In other words, say moved to a body shop that may (waive) a tow to the shop and free storage till the shop and insurance agree on the amount to fix. But if moved to a body shop and deemed a total, then the body shop can charge for the towing to the shop (plus) storage, since if totaled, then they don't get the business.

The longer it sits in there the higher the fee will be, borrow the money and get it done.

There's no way to get a car out of a tow yard without paying.

Borrowing the money might be an option.

"is there a way to get my car out of the yard,?"

Yes there's a way. You can pay to get it out or you can try yo break into the yard and steal it.

  • Can i get out of a ford lease early? Or get a new car early? After my 2004 GTO broke down, i was forced to lease a 2014 Focus, for 3 years and had to get extended miles. Its been about 5 months since i've had the car and so far i hate it. Slow, cheaply made, stereo is terrible, no traction in winter, i don't like it at all. Is there any chance of getting out of the lease early or turning it in without hurting my credit, or even turning it in to lease a different car. Possibly a truck or taurus. Has anyone else been in this situation?
  • Why can't powerful cars tow like trucks can? I don't know if this a dumb question, but I don't understand why you can't, I know you aren't supposed to but why. If my 230 hp Ford Ranger can tow 6000lbs, why can't the 845 hp dodge demon tow something, it has way more hp, way more torque and 2 more cylinders. Does it have something to do with the suspension not being able to hold the weight or what?
  • Need help figuring out what is wrong with my 1998 ford ranger? I have a 1998 ford ranger 3.0l 4wd. Anyways, I drove it home and it wouldn't start the next day. So, I checked the fuel pressure at the rail and it was 0psi. So, I pulled the bed off right quick and checked the voltage to the pump. The first pin had 5v, middle pin has 0v, and the last pin had 5v. I checked the relay and it was good… Any ideas on where else to look?
