How many miles is Pennzoil High Mileage good for?
I've had the 5w/20 in my car for the last 6000 miles. Is it time to replace it? It's a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS with 155*** miles on it.
My guess would be that the High Mileage variety of motor oil is meant to be used in cars with a lot of miles on the odometer, such as yours. I doubt that this means you don't have to change it as frequently. My car gets an oil change every 3,500 miles. Please consult your garage or read the directions on the can before you go this long again without an oil change.
Definitely. That's a lot of miles between oil changes, especially for an older car.
- After driving Ford Ranger, high mileage, 10 miles and at normal operating temp, I park overnight on level concrete floor. I check oil level? Next day before starting and when I pull dipstick out, oil level is at full mark. I wipe the dipstick clean and re-insert and check oil level again, the oil level is down about 1/8th inch or so. I check it once more and get same reading. Is the crankcase full or do I need to add some oil? Just to be clear, since this is an older Ranger with over 170,000 miles, I use high mileage oil and I check the oil level regularly. It doesn't use oil after just 10 miles of driving.
- A newer car with more miles or an older car with less mileage? I have a 1995 honda civic ex coupe with 176,800 miles on it. It's been leased the first few years then my friend drove it until now some city driving some not, I've also put $2000 into it; new radiator, new belts, axle fixed etc. A client then gave me a 2001 ford ranger with 198,000 miles on it. I believe it hasn't had much city driving and it's also had two owners. I think both have gotten into very minor accidents. What car do I keep?
- Is High Mileage on a Used Car a Bad Thing? I'm looking into buying a used 1989 Ford Mustang for $3,195. The mileage on it is 89000. I'm not sure if the mileage is a bad thing or if it should affect my purchase.
- How many miles is too many? - 2012 Ford Fusion? I have a couple of questions for you guys… I found a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL that I like. The problem is it has a LOT of miles for a 2012, 97k to be exact. Is this something a car buying should stay away from? My other question is how well do 2012 Ford Fusions hold up? How many miles can it be expected to last if it has been taken care of? I'm looking for a used car 2009-current for around or under 13k. Have suggestions? Feel free to let me know!
