How long do cars take to get repaired after a fender bender?
I know its hard to say, but I'm just looking for an estimate.
I have a 2013 Ford Focus SE Hatchback and I rear ended someone, my hood, bumper, fenders, and headlights are either hanging off, bent, or cracked.
Its not a huge accident, so how long can I expect it to be at the shop after I get an estimate?
The place isn't too busy and the owner even offered to tow my car there for free for an estimate.
What you think is not busy is because cars are at certain stages of repair. Mostly waiting for parts or to be painted.
You best ask them, as they see your damage and know how fast parts can come in
my hood, bumper, fenders, and headlights are either hanging off, bent, or cracked. That is a big accident. Small car, a lot of it is damaged.
Does not matter. It has to be done right to YOUR SATISFACTION. Get more than one body shop to estimate it because your insurance will demand that.
I went to 5 shops and presented the 3 highest priced ones to the insurance. They looked at the estimates and said go ahead. So I picked the most expensive shop. Took over a week to do. I can't even see what they did.
Just to remove the parts with damage can take a day to remove, since i can't see your car there's now way that i can calculate the number of frame pulls (basically a set up is considered 1hr and each pull is a 1/2 hour ) depending on parts and how busy the shop is it can take up to 2 weeks. To be sure ask the shop before leaving your car
- Why don't American cars last as long as Japanese cars? My family has owned a Ford Taurus and a Nissan Altima of similar model years. Both cars are still running, but the Taurus has very low mileage (it's a 1999 with only 85,000 miles) and the interior is in horrible condition and the plastics Ford put in have been known for breaking. None of this has happened with the Altima, even though it has more miles. Why?
- Is a dealership the best place to get my car repaired? I have a 2014 Ford vehicle that I haven't even had for a year yet. Someone rear ended me and now I have to take it in to repair the damage. The other persons insurance is covering the cost. Since the car is not even a year old, I want to make sure that I get OEM parts installed. Is taking it to the Ford Dealership my best bet or will I be fine taking it to a respected independent? I just want to make sure I get it back the same way it was before.
- How long does it take to install a heater core in a 2005 Ford Freestyle? I have a Ford Freestyle 2005 and i was wondering how long it should take my mechanic to the job?( Labor hours)
- Recently repaired a transmission line on 2007 ford fusion that was leaking The Hose was repaired but now it shifts into reverse hard and takes a while to shift to the other gears. Shifting from reverse to drive takes like 2 seconds. Can some this be a result of not having enough fluid?
