Ford Focus ST MK3 clicking on steering?
Hi, I have recently noticed a clicking sound when turning the steering wheel on my ST. It only really clicks when steering wheel is centred. I have jacked the front end up and once done the noise goes, suggesting its links to a load bearing problem. There's no play in steering wheel and suspension seems fine. A mechanic has suggested steering rack problem but I was just wondering if anyone out there with this model or any other car has come across anything similar? Before I take this into Ford and fork out a fortune. Any ideas would be grateful. Cheers
Don't take it to Ford - they will take you to the cleaners.
Take it to a few mechanics and get quotes for fixing it.
- 1995 Ford Taurus with a steering issue. When I turn the steering wheel to a certain spot left or right it will start moving back and forth? According to previous owner the rack and pinion was previously replaced. Steering wheel Is off a little to the right. Any ideas?
- 03 ford ranger 3.0L v6 making clicking noise? A few days ago my ranger started making a clicking noise from the engine. It increases with the rpms and seems to go away when torque is applied like going up a hill. I had probably waited too long to change my oil and I just changed it and it seemed to maybe help a little. Does anyone know what the sound might be?
- Oil leak ford mondeo mk3? I have a ford mondeo mk3, over the last few weeks I have had to keep on filling it up with oil. I have to add about a ltr every 100 miles. I can't see a leak and no oil patches and I have no smoke coming out the back. I'm also using alot of coolant i'm guessing cause when the oils low it gets hotter. Any ideas
- Is this issue with my 2001 ford mondeo mk3 1.8 LX the transfer box or the gearbox? So recently I have been working on a 2001 ford mondeo 1.8 lx and one of the issues it has is only gear 2 and 4 work now is this the transfer box or the gearbox itself?
