How many miles does your owners manual state?
There's a manual that came with the car. Read the maintenance section. It will tell you when the oil needs to be changed.
So, what happened to the OWNERS MANUAL that came with it? There's a maintenance schedule in it. Look at it and follow the recommendations. If you've carelessly lost it, you can download an electronic copy from the Ford website.
"The Focus is equipped with the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor system, which displays a message in the information display at the proper oil change interval. This interval may be up to one year or 10,000 miles (16,000 kilometers)."
"When the oil change message appears in the information display, it is time for an oil change. The oil change should be performed within two weeks or 500 miles (800 kilometers) of the message appearing. Make sure the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor is reset after each oil change."
"If the information display resets prematurely or becomes inoperative, an oil change interval should be performed at six months or 5,000 miles (8,000 kilometers) from the last oil change. Never exceed one year or 10,000 miles (16,000 kilometers) between oil change intervals."
Read the owners manual, thats what its there for.
I'd do oil changes every 3,000 miles if you're running regular motor oil.
Anually or every 12500 miles.
- What would win, a 2017 Subaru WRX STI or a 2017 Ford Mustang 3.7 V6 if they raced I have a bet with a friend that the STI would win and he thinks the mustang would, I don't need statistics like "the mustang has 300hp and the STI has 305" and yes I'm aware the driver makes a huge difference being standard vehicles, thanks for the answers
- How many miles is too many? - 2012 Ford Fusion? I have a couple of questions for you guys… I found a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL that I like. The problem is it has a LOT of miles for a 2012, 97k to be exact. Is this something a car buying should stay away from? My other question is how well do 2012 Ford Fusions hold up? How many miles can it be expected to last if it has been taken care of? I'm looking for a used car 2009-current for around or under 13k. Have suggestions? Feel free to let me know!
- Would a Mazda 3 hatchback or Ford focus hatchback be more reliable? I'm looking into good first cars and i want to know which one of these brands and models is more reliable and better in mpg, performance, ect… Thanks
- Why does 2017 ford focus 1.0L has less mpg than 2017 honda civic? It has tiny engine as geo metro like it supposed to be 50 mpg? The manual focus has 30 city 40 hwy mpg which is average for an 4 cylinder subcompact, while the automatic 1.5L civic makes 2 gained mpg difference.
