Have a mechanic compression test that tired engine, new plugs oil and fluids, a seafoam engine and fuel system treatment would help.
If you know the car/ had it for some time, and it's not making any noises, it'll go the distance no probs. Just keep on top of the oil changes and make sure the coolant is maintained. The key to running old or high mileage vehicles successfully is to keep on top of the maintenance and don't flog it any more than you have to.
Hope you are not trolling. Focuses are done at around 180k miles. So just roll the dice. It will break tomorrow or it will be chugging along in December.
Yes
Don't hot rod it, just drive it like you always do and you shouldnt have ANY problems out of it.
I'm surprised it lasted this long. It's probably a fluke, considering the average Ford spends more time at the mechanic's shop then it does in its owner's garage.
- What brand of vehicle last a little over 200,000 miles? I'm looking to buy a vehicle and I would like to know what brand of vehicle last over 200,000 miless (nissan, chevy, ford) etc. Also I would like to know how many miles is too high when looking to buy a used vehicle.
- I have a 97 Ford Ranger, 4.0, in good shape, 102,000 miles and it doesn't start as well as I think it should. It cranks strong, and has new? Motorcraft plugs and fuel filter. I've cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body and the truck runs fine and there's no misfire. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I think the truck should start when I turn the key instead of having to crank 2-3 times. I've also installed a new IAC valve. Any suggestions on how to get the truck to start better?
- I have a 2013 Ford Fusion, I just purchased warranty replacement tires on the car in December. The car is worse in the rain now than before? The tires only have 3,000-4,000 miles, but they are hydroplaning worse that the previous bald tires. They are not off brand tires, but Michelin's. Would like to know if there's anything that can be done.
