Car is making squeaky sound on passenger side?

I own a 2000 Ford Focus.

I noticed this squeaky sound only arises in cold conditions and non existent in warm/hot climate, it seems the sound is coming from the bearing on the passenger side. Can't really pinpoint what exactly though.

Sounds like a squeaky wheel. My passenger back has been like that for years. My mechanic told me to turn up the radio so I wouldn't hear it.

Is the noise constant when you're moving or does it stop or at least change when you hit the brakes?

Bearing do not squeak as a rule but the sometimes chirp. Underinflated tires can squeak. And tires are most apt to be so when the weather turns cold. What bearing are you talking about on the passenger side? Are you saying it seems to be coming from the front wheel? One way to pin the location of a noice down is (in your case) to put a passenger in the front seat with window down and drive past a building or even a curb on the right. The sound will report to the passenger as a echo off the building wall or curb. And, finally, remember it's a Ford; and Fords alway have been full of surprises, not necessarily bad but always Ford. So don't get expectation too high with a cheap Ford.

Just take it to the dealer to have it fixed.

  • Rattling noise coming from passenger side possibly engine when going up steep hills, for ranger? I ave a 2007 ford ranger and recently when going up hills there has been a rattling noise that seems to come from the passenger side towards the engine or front of the truck. What could cause this? I also recently had an oil change, and they put 5w30 in instead of the recommended 5w20, could any of this be a cause?
  • 2008 Ford Mustang - The passenger side under the dashboard recently leaked I took it to a Firestone recently and they said I had to take it to the dealer or to Ford directly. Called Ford and they said it would be $130 just to even look at it. The dealership I bought the car from is closed for good now. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to fix this yourself rather than having it fixed? The passenger side leaks everytime it rains but it rained heavy the other day and now the carpet is flooded.
  • I have a knock on rear passenger side what is it? I have changed the shock absorber as it was worn out. Now if anything the noise has got worse. Is the a bush type thing that the top of rhe shock sits in to stop the knocking? Its a 53 plate ford fusion 1.4 petrol
  • What is that noise coming from the passenger side of my 2014 Ford Focus st? I'm hearing a metallic rubbing sound coming from the passenger side. Almost like an air leak, but more of a light metal rubbing. But I guess it could be anything. Louder with higher acceleration. Not related to wheel speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
