American website for buying cars for restorations?

I'm trying to find a 1969 ford mustang mach one/ mach one 429 cobra jet. How ever since this is an American car and I'm Australian I'm having a hard time finding one over here. I'm looking for websites in America that focus on selling old cars for restorations. I'm happy purchasing it from America and getting it shipped, if anyone could suggest a website, where i could find one that would be great!

Try Hemmings.com… A huge amount of classic, vintage and muscle cars for sale ads in various stages of condition and many other features like restoration parts, repair services, shipping and insurance services, etc. You can go online or buy a subscription… Also sold at magazine racks, bookstores, etc.

Your best bet is to get over to the US and start using their car ads to find the car you want.

  • Why would people buy older foreign cars instead of brand new American cars? I see it all the time, people driving 7-8 year old Mercedes or BMWs that they paid probably paid around $20,000. They could of easily gone out and bought a brand new Ford or Dodge, but they didn't. They bought a Mercedes with over 100k miles. All worn and torn on the inside. But aslong as they're shining on the outside I guess.
  • Why don't American cars last as long as Japanese cars? My family has owned a Ford Taurus and a Nissan Altima of similar model years. Both cars are still running, but the Taurus has very low mileage (it's a 1999 with only 85,000 miles) and the interior is in horrible condition and the plastics Ford put in have been known for breaking. None of this has happened with the Altima, even though it has more miles. Why?
  • Has Tesla shown the rest of the world how great American cars are? It's one of the most talked about cars in the world. Its stock has been steadily growing in the past five years and it is expected to do so into the near future as Tesla is about to release its $35,000 car model. More than anything, I'm surprised ford, gm, and chrysler have not taken a page from Tesla's success story.
  • Is there a website where I can customize my car to see what it will look in person? I recently bought a 2012 Ford Focus SE and I would like to have some work done to it. I've been drawing out how I wanted to decorate it but I need to actually see how it will look on my car. Is there a website I can go to where I can type in a model of a car, select different rims and colors and chrome vent stickers etc? I mean there's photo shop but I was never too good with that lol.
