2012 Ford Focus Wipers go on by themselves, and don't work by wiper switch?

My 2012 Ford Focus SE had a battery go dead. A day after that, the wipers went on by themselves while driving. They kept going after the car was turned off. Eventually they stopped. When I unlocked the car by remote, the wipers started again.

When I need the wipers (rain) and try and turn them on by the wiper switch, nothing happens. Windshield Washer works, and all fuses are fine.

Any Ideas?

It's better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

I can't argue with that. Unfortunately weather does not cooperate.

In Mexico, where that car was built, they re so glad whenever it rains and are superstitious. They believe that the wipers cause rain to fall and since we're in drout, that's a good thing… Sorry, I was just being funny; You need to take the car to a Ford service station to have them fix the problem. They will reflash the computer and make the problem stop.

It actually was built in Mexico though.
