2000 ford focus, lost ignition key, how can i unlock it to tow to junk?
Have door key that unlocks it, no battery in it. Could this be why i can't unlock the floor shifter?
There should be a slot to use any key to release the Shift Interlock, battery or not. You'll need to remove the center console and undo the cable or go under the hood and remove the shift cable and move the selector by hand.
Find the little cover that you pry off and stick a small screwdriver in to manually release the shift lever.
If you're having a pro tow truck haul it off, relax. The driver knows how to get it onto his rig, trust me.
- Lost my only key to my car. It's an 02 ford taurus station wagon and has a chip in the key? Ordered and blank key. Going to get it cut then have it programmed. Can I use my key that unlocks the door to get it cut and then use my vin to have them program it?
