Why were liberals and democrats against the US winning the Vietnam War?
Under Nixon he changed things drastically by taking off the rules of engagement and let the military do their job ultimately his actions and non micromanagement led to the Paris Peace Accords that won our mission in that war. All the left wing radicals, the liberal media, the Anti-war movement the democrats in Congress were all against that they never wanted us to win and when the democrats took over Congress they hounded Nixon which if Nixon stayed North Vietnam would never have dared violate the ceasefire, and blocked they Ford from honoring our obligation from sending any aid to South Vietnam after the North broke the ceasefire.
Nixon founded the EPA and wanted to ban artificial sweeteners.
Just saying, you can hold up old Republicans, yet they are liberals the lot of them.

@ Minister of Truth You are correct all US combat forces were gone form SVN by sometime in 1973. NVN violated the peace treaty and their successful invasion of a sovereign nation went effectively unopposed by the USA or the UN due to the political turmoil in the USA.
North Vietnam was/is a communist country, and was supported by the USSR plus the PRC. The leftists in the USA were simply following the orders of their KGB control officers.
The USA was too distracted by the Watergate scandal to effectively oppose the NVA's invasion of South Vietnam in 1975.

After about 1965, liberals and democrats have always been predominately socialists, one worlders, and what ever in-vogue activist movement to support that cause. When Nixon was President, that overall characteristic aligned with the Soviet Russians and the Communist Chinese. Since they supported the Communist North Vietnamese, it fitted all of them together against the USA. It's the same thing, different version of what you have today with the democrats, western Europeans, etc. Being against the Trump/conservative/republicans.
