Why do so many Vietnam Vets drive Ford Rangers?
Why do so many Vietnam Vets drive Ford Rangers?
Quality and good gas mileage.
Yeah, I'm not sure that they do. Vietnam Vets are all in their late 60's. The target market for Ford Ranger is 18 to 35. I only say I'm not sure because I can't speak for used truck sales as there's no data on that, but for new truck sales, Ford's own market analysis shows that 90% of buyers of new Ford Rangers are between the ages of 18 and 35.
We like them
Do they?
The truck hasn't been made in nearly a decade. I've never known any Vietnam vets to drive one.

- What common problems do Ford Rangers have? I'm looking into buying a used Ford Ranger (2000 or newer) but I've heard that certain years have head gasket, clutch and transmission problems. I've read 2002 Rangers are known for warped head gaskets. Any other years I should avoid?
- My 1999 ford rangers won't crank? Battery with full charge 12volt. I turn the ignition switch to start and it won't. Radio turns on, power Windows works. Engine won't crank
- Did ford ever put a V8 in any of the Rangers? I'm wondering if Ford ever made a Ford Ranger with a V8 engine. I know for a fact that they put a 4 cylinder and V6's in them and I know they put V8's in Ford Explorer's but I have no idea if they put them in the Ranger
