How comes my insurance quotes are expensive now?

The cheapest quote 3 days ago on my Ford Fiesta 1.2 was £900, and today again I checked the quotes again for my car with the same exact details on the same comparison site few hours ago; it was £1400 as the cheapest. The company that provided me with the cheapest quote was exactly the same as today. Why did it become more expensive within 3 days?

Why are my insurance quotes so expensive now?

About 3 days ago my cheapest insurance quote was £900 for my Ford Fiesta, exact same details such as the additional drivers, address etc. On confused.com. Today, I was checking the quotes again, and the cheapest quote was £1,400; why did it become so expensive compared to 3 days ago, where the quote was the cheaper with the same insurance company? Is it because it is a Saturday or something?

Did I do alright on this car trade?

I had a 2011 ford fiesta se with sync and power package, 5 speed.
I owed 13.7k. I know I had significant negative equity.
I purchased a 2011 BMW 328i xDrive (base). With trade, out the door, I financed 26.3k
I'm married and we're looking to start a family. We both have wonderful jobs, so payments maintenance are not concerns. I was financed at %2.99 percent, 60 months.
Both vehicles have 30000 miles on them and both are in great condition (garage parked, no damage, low mileage).

Would that be considered an acceptable price? I know I'm upside down either way, but I decided I'd rather overpay on a vehicle that would hold value.

Both cars considered, is 26.3k "a good deal" or not?
