I lost my spare car key! How much will it cost to replace it?

I have a 2012 Ford Fiesta and lost my spare key to it. I still have the original and need to get another one made. It's a laser cut key and will need to be programmed I'm sure. How much will it cost?

UK Answer. Try Timpsons and see what they can do, otherwise the main dealer will be happy to lighten your wallet. Calling either will give you the cost.

Hi so why not go and enquire at a ford dealer.

It costs about $3.99 to get a new set of keys cut.

Need will always out do the cost…

First, try walmart. Then try ford, they try other ford dealers. Lastly ask a locksmith.

I want a spare key but walmart does not carry the blanks. Mazda wants $10 for a blank.

That is a door key only, IGNITION keys are much more.

Contact your local Ford dealership and they will tell you.

Call the dealer and ask.
If you lose all the keys you'll need to tow the vehicle to the dealer as well as pay for the keys and programming.

It will cost as much as someone with knowledge and skill local to YOU charges.

Cost of replacement keys depend on the car and the maker, and that may not just be the model of car, but also the particular variant
(once went to buy a car and found the seller only had one 1 key - found the cost of a spare was more than the price of the car - I didn't buy it)

If it has to be programmed then its gonna cost a lot more than just cutting a new one

with some manufacturers as well as the key being programmed to the car, the car has also to be programmed to accept the key

They are dealer only items, and several hundred dollars. You can purchase just the chip key for way less and have it programmed ( no fob).
