Ford Fiesta or Ford Ka? First car?

I'm cheap looking for a car thats max £500, a lot of older cars from around 2003 seem to be this price for ford ka's and fiesta's, which would you say is better for a 17 year old girl? I just want to go to and from college and maybe shopping ect not more than 10 miles a day.

For £500 it's the luck of the draw, and your ability to spot defects which will affect whether a car is worth buying or not., Forget make and model, if you can find something half decent with a long MOT for that little, buy it.
There's not enough between the Ka and Fiesta to worry about. The one that needs £500 of repairs will be the dearer one to run over the year.

If there's no rust on the Ka (sill, rear arches and petrol filler area) then the Ka would do for a couple of years but they are rot boxes. If it has any rust go for the Fiesta or wait for something better.

I agree with pmt853 the ka will be cheaper but you will prefer the fezza and you would probaly keep it longer.

The Ka will be significantly cheaper to insure than the Fiesta, though the Fiesta is a nicer car.
