Electric in car doesn't turn on (int/ext lights, radio, power locks, ect.) and car won't start unless passenger door is opened and closed
I'm not able to use my key fob and have to manually unlock my drivers side door. When I open it, none of the interior lights come on like they're supposed to. Nothing works and I can't even put the car in auxiliary, it does absolutely nothing when I turn the key. Completely dead. Then I open and shut the passenger door and suddenly the interior lights and everything else comes on and I'm able to start the car and everything is normal again. I've never heard of this before? It didn't show any warning before, just randomly happened one day. I have a 2016 ford fiesta.
Some electrical connections have come loose or malfunctioned. Could it be that your key fob battery has died?
A dealer handling your make of car should be able to diagnose and fix this problem. Don't mess around with "cheaper" alternatives - get the job done right.
There's a bad/loose wire somewhere. Opening and closing the door knocked it back into place. That doesn't necessarily mean the problem is anywhere near the door.
Go tot he dealer. There may be a factory TSB report for the mechanics to address this problem.

- 99 Ford ranger XLT base model. Park lights, dash lights, and license plates lights out I checked online and realized it was probably a fuse which it is. Fuse 11 in my power distribution box. The problem is I keep replacing at and soon as I turn on my lights it blows instantly. Have replaced it multiple times. So then I looked under my truck and disconnected the wiring to my taillights and replaced the fuse, it worked it didn't blow. Dash lights and license plates lights were on so I figured some where there's a problem with the brake lights. Any suggestions?
- Why don't my power door locks work in the winter time? The truck is a 03 ford f150 4 doors. The power locks work when it is hot outside but when it's winter the power locks don't work at all. What is a solution for this?
- Car won't start, radio turns on automatically when I try to start the car? I have a 2004 Ford Freestar and I attempted to wire it for pulling a trailer. Well, I messed something up because now when I try to start the car it clicks like a dead battery. If that's all that happened I would just assume the battery was dead but the radio turns on too and the lights on the dash go a little buggy… so I removed all the wires I installed but the problem still persists. Any help would be great!
