Check your fuses. If the fan isn't running to draw the heat away, it could be the fan. Then, look for other things, when was the last time your cooling system was flushed? Those start at the cheapest & go up from there. If it keeps over heating, you could damage your engine.

Sitting still aka idoling is worse for overheating then driving. While driving, you get some airflow around the engine. While it just sits there, if the fan isn't working, there's no airflow at all, causing the engine to heat up pretty easily.

Change da violent, check for leakage in radiator. Or best consult a mechanic for a free advice or you pay him whatever you like.

The electric fan(s) isn't coming on for any one of several reasons, either the fan motor is broken, the thermostat that tells the fan to turn on in a specified heat range is malfunctioning or the relay that actually turns on the fan is malfunctioning. Or it could be a blown fuse. An idling car (fwd) does not draw air through the radiator and as the fans can no longer be driven off of the crankshaft (because the shaft is parallel to the front bumper and the radiator is too, so it must rely on an electrical circuit to operate the fan.

Does it only overheat while idling? If so, it could be an issue with the fan not coming on or a deteriorating radiator but considering it's only 4 years old, I'd suspect a fan issue first.

Have you taken the radiator cap off and run the motor for 15 minutes to see if any air bubbles come out? Checking the coolant is the first thing to do.
Next replace the thermostat if the coolant is ok.
When you turn on the AC do the radiator fans come on?

Most common reason is the radiator fan not coming on.

When you are driving there's enough wind through the radiator to cool the engine, so the fan isn't on. When you stop, no air flow, so the electric fan needs to switch on to cool the radiator.

So faulty fan? Relay? Wiring? Etc.
