Would you trade two cars for one with a cars salesman?
I have too many cars and will move in a few days. I need a pickup truck to help move. I have a 97 Jeep and 88 Mercedes that I want to trade for a 97 Ford 150. The 88 Mercedes is has been garage storage (looks new as if it was 1988). The Jeep needs a muffler but runs good. Who would come out on top? Good idea?
That depends on what numbers you're looking at.
The Merc is 27 years old. That's all they'll look at. An 18 year old Jeep is worth loose change.
No one can tell you whether it's a good deal or not because no one here can see and examine the F150. While you're trading two old vehicles for one, the pick-up you would be trading for is almost 20 years old as well…
What model Mercedes? An '88 190E 2.3 is worth a lot less than an '88 560SL for example.
No. What would I want a car salesman for? The dealership always comes out on top. They are in business to make a profit, not to do nice things for people.
Anytime you trade with a dealer you lose thousands in value.
While its possible to trade 2 for one, you are still going to lose a lot of value.
Sell these cars yourself.
- How much for an F650? Would you need a special license to drive one or would a regular drivers license work? I'm interested in possibly purchasing a ford F650 and was wondering a price range of it and if I can drive it with a regular license. Also a possible gas mileage and how would I go about buying one?
- How do car salesman get paid? I just got hired at ford but they told me there's 2 different ways of pay and I didn't understand either?
- Which one of these cars would generally last longer? Assuming that both cars are very well maintained, which would get the most life out of it? http://westernmass.craigslist.org/cto/5249970227.html or http://westernmass.craigslist.org/cto/5250364940.html I was told that Honda's last a million times longer that Ford's but the mileage gap between the two greatly favors the Focus
- Can't decide between two used cars? I'm torn between two used cars: A 2006 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5L PZEV, and a 2007 Ford Focus ZX4 SE. Both of them have a manual transmission, around the same mileage… Which one should I choose, without considering the price as a factor? Thanks! Can't decide between two used cars…
