  • Car won't accelerate, but rpms increase? I replace my alternator on Saturday and starting that same day my car has had problems accelerating. When I hit 10mph, the rpms shoot to 4000 and I have to ease off the gas pedal. Occasionally this is accompanied by a groaning noise. I made sure that the connections to the alternator were secure, but I'm not sure what the problem could be. The car is a 1997 Ford Taurus. I would really appreciate any advice.
  • Car Sputtering around 45-50 miles an hour, RPMS not fluctuating? I just recently bought a Ford Taurus. When Driving (Especially Accelerating) the car sputters. It just started yesterday. The RPMS do not fluctuate, so I don't think, and hope its not the transmission. Any ideas?
  • 88 ford ranger. Idling at 1200-1500 RPMs and gets 12 MPG. What is wrong? The only thing i have done to it was clean the intake with B12. I also used jb40 with that. Seems like sometime after that this happened. The truck runs great, its just idling high and its using alot of gas. Some trobleshooting tips would be cool. I don't want to go replacing a bunch of stuff i don't need too. I appreciate your help.
  • Why do my rpms go up and down while idling? I drive a 1997 ford Mustang v6, when I'm in idle the rpm guage goes up and down between 1 and the half mark. I know it's not just the guage because the engine clearly is review up and down with it. Should I take it in somewhere?
