Should I buy a 1998 Ford F-150 XL for $2500?
It has 156,000 KM on it. GM Dealership wants $2500, looks to be in good shape. Its only two doors so only fits 3 people. Should I just keep my Grand AM that has 190,215KM on it?
If it's in reasonable shape, or if it's simply what you want, I see no reason why not.
Last October, I bought a '95 F-150XL for $2500(USD). That was "high book" price… But it was pretty much what I wanted.
January saw a set of new tires (5) at about $850.
Today was just under $1300 for a complete new suspension (parts only).
Why would I invest like this? Simple:
I do not have the capital to invest in a new truck that costs $30K+.
I do NOT like ABS, auto trans or push button 4x4.
I like simple. Manual trans, manual transfer case, get out and lock hubs, Rain gutters, hand crank windows, vent windows… And an ashtray.
These things rarely break, unlike all the electric gadgets and computers.
I can crack the window and still stay dry.
As of right now, she has 167007 miles. Keep your Grand AM, it burns half the gas.

- I want to buy a new car under 13000,to last at least 10 years. What should i buy? I was thinking at an ford fiesta. What do you think? Other suggestions? I don't want to buy one that costs much to repair… 13000 euros
- I'm just wondering if you think it's a scam I'm trying to buy a 2005 Ford F-150 for 2500 He says it's shipping through amazon but is being transported by the lagistics department and amazon supposedly sent me an email and it had an item and everything but the item number starts with a 697 i don't no if this is an actual amazon email because this person has also showed on a picture of the title and the vin number and stuff but it kinda seems to good to be true
- Should i buy a 2000 ford f-150 v6 truck? It has 240, xxx miles and all it needs is a map sensor. But the guy want $1600 for it. Everything else works and the truck is in good condition.
- I would like to know if 04-08 Ford F-150 rear suspension parts would fit on my 1998 Ford F-150? I'm building a prerunner and have already received a long travel kit for the front of my 1998 Ford F-150, but I'm having trouble finding rear suspension parts for it. Honestly I'm perfectly fine with just a pair of Fox 2.5 Factory piggybacks, but I can only find some for the 04-08 Ford F-150 and I just wanted to know if they would bolt onto my 1998 Ford F-150.
