Recommendations on a code reader?
I own 3 ford vehicles
a 95 f150, a 01 focus, and 04 explorer
I wanting a code reader that will work best on fords and as well do more then just erase the error lights
All you need to worry about is that it is OBD1 and 2 compatible.
Well i never do this but harbor freight sells one i hear is decent does full read out is up date able and its around a hundred bucks that car MD is junk its a waste of time and money even the harbor freight one reads it out instead of just a code which is very nice instead of trying to determine the code itself by looking through a boatload of other codes trying to find yours The key is to have it read it out but most do not do ABS some do but it costs extra for that feature
- Recommendations for a first car? I'm looking to get a car in the next year. Kind of indecisive on what I what i think would be best. Definitely no fords. I'm mostly looking for a Honda but I'm not sure what's best. I do like teggys and accords though.
- I bought an Actron CP9125 Code Reader to try and diagnose a rough idle at cold start on a 98 Ford 4.0 engine. The rough idle had not caused? The CEL to come on. I plugged the code reader in with just the key on and pressed read and the little asterisk goes half-way across the screen one time and stops. I press the read button again and it reads 0 codes. I was thinking it would scan multiple times to check for pending codes or other issues. I tried it with the engine running and the same thing happens. Is this code reader operating properly?
- Looking for used MPV recommendations? Could I please get opinions on the best used mpv to buy for a family of four and a Labrador dog. The car needs to be fuel efficient as its main purpose will be to commute to and from Coventry (60 mile round trip) but I need it for holidays with the family and dog as our ford focus is not big enough. I'm looking at up to £6000 but will be on HP with a trade in on the focus(1.4l, 2003, 5 door)
