07 Ford F150 Superduty to Pioneer AVHX3800BHS stereo, Steering wheel interface: what do I need to make audio controls work?

I installed a Pioneer AVHX3800BHS stereo about a year ago, and my friend helping me was familiar with installing stereos; he told me my steering wheel controls would be disabled and that he didn't think there was a way to connect them. A year later and a quick Google search seems to indicate that I should have done more research earlier.
I'm running into trouble figuring out what i need to make it happen still. Is it a module? Wiring harness? A certified stereo technician?
I'm confident in my ability to plug Af->AmBf->Bm and removing panels, but so many manufacturers, lingo, and wires pointing everywhere is overwhelming me… I'm not good at shopping.
Everything else is connected and works, so not sure if I should buy a full blown wiring kit or if this SWC is something I can get separately.

Will most American vehicles be obsolete in the future?

I live in Ontario Canada, and yes I do see some F150's and RAMS out on the road, but other than that its mostly Japanese cars.

Everyday I see at leasy 20 Civics in my 40 minute commute to work and back. Many corollas and lots of Mazda's. Even Hyundai are pretty good.

I rarely see any American cars, I only see the older ones from the early 2000's. I rarely see any Chrysler cars, I do see some Caravans, but not much Chargers.

Once in a blue moon I will see a Ford sedan or SUV.

Is the speedometer and A/C somehow connected/related?

My speedometer is out and my A/C is not blowing cold. Someone said if I fix one it might fix the other by saying it's something to do with the instrument cluster. You think this will work? 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat
