My throttle body from my 1993 Ford F-150 5.8L is leaking fuel. What can I do to repair it myself?
My truck will not start, there are ignition sounds but it with will not ignite. I've replace the distributor cap and rotor and the fuel line hoses from the fuel vapor canister to the throttle body. Do you think it could be a bad gasket?
Jeezle- 1993… Check the ignition timing, and if it's very wrong, your timing chain has slipped. I bet the engine has been running a long time with the throttle body leaking. There's a chance the carb float doesn't float anymore and lets the engine flood so badly it can't run. When you rebuild the carburetor, drop the float in a jar of gasoline and see if it sinks to the bottom- that means it needs replacing.
- In my car the one of the bottom radiator hoses has a huge split in it & leaking everywhere, how much and how hard is it to fix it myself? Or is it one of those complicated things where it needs to go to a repair shop? My car is a 2001 Ford Focus btw
- Will I cause any damage if I use my manual fuel cutoff/shutdown as a throttle while I investigate why my actual throttle is stuck at full Had my cav rotary injection pump fixed on a diesel Ford tractor. The throttle is not operating correctly (stays at full throttle), is it going to hurt anything to use my manual fuel cutoff as a throttle while I investigate the issue.
- 2010 Ford F-150 4.6 rough idle (extra rough when a/c is on) after throttle body cleaned Purge valve solenoid (new) throttle body cleaned. What could this vibration (constant in and out) be? The engine itself shakes along with the exhaust. I can feel the vibration more while the doors are open.
- Ford escape stalling not throttle body? I have a 09 Ford Escape xlt v6 3.0 and twice while driving up a hill it has stalled luckily not at high speeds. It's not the throttle body bc I replaced it 15k miles ago and when my car stalls it doesn't throw it into limp mode like the throttle body did. Lights come on the dash like they do when you have the key turned to accessory and I simply pop it into neutral and start it and keep on going like nothing ever happened
