Lift kits and control arms

I'm quite familiar with leveling kits but I'm new to the world of lift kits and how they work. I know that the it is recommended to replace the upper control arms for larger leveling kits so that the balls joint don't wear out as easily. However, I've been lookin into 4 inch lifts for my F-150 to fit 35's. I've noticed that there are no lifts (4 or 6 inches) that come with new upper control arms, and I haven't seen any aftermarket uca's designed for lifts 4+ inches for ford, but there are for Chevys. Is there something that lift kits do that don't require you to upgrade the uca's? Why is it that there are uca's for 1-3 inch levels but none for 4-6 inch lifts? Why are there uca's designed for 4-6 inch lifts for chevys but not for fords or rams?

I have heard that failure to use a uca made for the lift can increase the risk of ball joint failure, which is something to avoid at all costs.

I would go with what ever the manufacturers kit includes. I have never messed with the independent front ends. Solid axle is the way to go. No upper control arms or ball joints out of alignment.
