I HAVE A 2003 ford f-150 gives code po-307 how do i fix it?
This code means you have a misfire in cylinder 7.
You can't fix it until you diagnose it. There are several different things that can cause a misfire. So don't just throw parts at it and hope to get lucky - get a professional diagnosis performed.
The good news is that the most common causes of engine misfire are reasonably affordable repairs - things such as spark plugs, ignition coils, clogged fuel injectors etc.
Speaking from experience, there's a very high chance that in your situation its being caused by a weak spark - from a failing ignition coil. Its a known problem with the Ford Triton Engines. The Triton engines have a separate ignition coil on every cylinder.
I own a 2003 Ford Van with the 5.4L V8 Triton engine and have had 2 ignition coils fail between 100k and 140k miles. The second time around I had my mechanic replace all the coils instead of just waiting for the other 6 to fail. If you intend to keep the truck for a long time, its probably worth having all of them done at once because its a lot cheaper.
There's a misfire in cylinder number 7. Most commonly it's from a bad spark plug. In 15 years I wouldn't be surprised. Put in all new spark plugs, but do them 1 by one so you can't mix them up if you have separate plug wires instead of coils on each plug.
Coil pack on cylinder 7. If it is 4.6 liter, also check the spark plug hole for coolant. Sometimes the intake manifolds go bad on them and they leak coolant slowly in the spark plug tube and short out the coil. If all dry just a simple coil swap and your good to go. Easy job. If coolant present, your on borrowed time and going to need a new intake manifold. Plus the coil and might as well do plugs while your in there. Not a real hard job, just not as simple as swapping coils. Ase certified Ford tech btw
Replace the #7 plug. Check for spark at number 7 cylinder. Check if the #7 injector is firing or getting command to fire with a noid light. Check compression at number 7 cylinder.
Take it to a mechanic
It could be a coil pack or the PCM. Take to a mechanic and he will sort it out. You are only guessing by replacing parts willy nilly.
A trustworthy mechanic will be your best bet.
- How to fix 2003 Ford Taurus power steering issues? I replaced the power steering pump on my 2003 Ford Taurus. It still does not work properly. The pump made a loud whining noise after I first started it up. I topped off the fluid, but the steering is still tough. The whining noise has quit, the reservoir is full and the steering is still stiff. What do I do next? It also spit fluid around my engine bay.

- Truck gives problems starting? I have an older model Ford F-150. 4.9 manual transmission. Recently it started acting up. First start of the day it cranks perfectly. However, if I drive 5 minutes down the road and shut it off. Start it back up the battery acts like it's dead for a minute then starts. After it sits for awhile it cranks normally again. I put new plugs, wires, battery, starter and alternator in it a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas?
