How to remove the bolts under the center console on a 2005 ford f150?

These are the bolts that go up into the console for you to use nuts on to bolt the console down. I have tried to use a socket on them but clockwise nor counterclockwise wise seems to loosen them.

On fords after 2007 you need a grunion plunger compression hex tool.

The answer is use a 6 mm socket and crank counterclockwise with a breaker bar of some sort and they will slowly come out. Here's the issue the bolts protrude of the bottom of the chassis exposing them to the elements potentially causing rust and making them stick very well!

They are probably speed nuts or clips, once they strip onto the end of the stud or screw you have to get under them with a small screw driver to get them to thread off the stud. They are not often used on a dash panel where you can't pop a plastic cover to get at the top of the nut in normal US manufactured vehicles. Using a good set of lineman's pliers, you can usually pull on them enough as you twist CC to get them to thread off, or you can pull on the part connection to get them going sometimes when plastic allows.
