Drive slower

Nope. There's nothing that will affect your mileage any significant amount.

Hi so as this is due in most part to your rather heavy right lead boot.

Waaa

There are no pickup truck that gets good gas mileage period. If you get 20 mpg then you are lucky.

Hey a pryus

You seriously expect good mileage from a heavy pick up with a 5.4 engine? (I know that's considered a bit small in the USA). You're lucky you get such cheap petrol (sorry gas).

Assuming you have a 25 gallon fuel tank (standard on shortbed/extended cab models in 1997) You're getting a bit over 11-12 MPG. Which if you do alot of around town driving is realistically what you can expect for this truck. If you were doing 80% highway it would be a MPG or two low, but you're probably getting the kind of fuel economy this truck gets.

For what it's worth years ago, I drove a lifted Bronco that got around 9-10 MPG on a 30 mile (each way) commute for two years, this was back when gas was over $4.00 a gallon. So it could be worse.

Fix the Accord. I'm sure it needs a new fuel filter.
