Car electrical issues?
I have a 2001 Ford F-150 crewcab. The truck died while I was driving and the dash lights went crazy the speedometer went nuts the doors lock and unlock on their own. So I don't know if a dead battery is just causing the system to go nuts. Or maybe a bad ground someone. Any help would be great thank you.

You're right about thinking of loose or corroded Grounds. They will cause all sorts of electrical Gremlins. Also loose Power Feed wires. But Ford has similar problems with their IPDMs, BCMs for other brands. And they will cause similar problems. But I would check the engine compartment Grounds and Power Feed to the Fuse/Relay box first. Any ground wires near the Battery are highly suspect. If you have a lot of miles the Ignition Switch is also suspect. Not the lock cylinder where the key goes in, the electrical switch.
If the battery is dead charge it.
Probably a low battery due to a failed alternator.
- Car won't crank with a new battery and alternator it has no electrical power what could the problem be? I have a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT that has been running for months when I tried starting it earlier today it would click once then nothing. Now it has no electrical power at all.
- 95 Ford Ranger Electrical Problem Every so often, sometimes months apart, only when driving the complete electrical system shuts off for a fraction of a second then it turn back on. We have checked everything we know of. Any ideas of what may be causing this?
- What might be wrong with my electrical system in my 1996 mustang gt and how much does it cost? I just bought a 1996 ford mustang gt it runs well but the dashboard caught fire for whatever reason on the previous owner. The tail lights and dash lights don't work and there's no radio or speakers. How can i fix this?
- Horse trailer electrical to my truck I have a 2010 Ford Explorer and I'm getting ready to purchase a 1980 Imperial 2 horse trailer. My truck and the other owner s truck have a 7 prong connector and I need to know if there's wiring that connects from my truck straight to the trailer or if it just connects right to it without wiring. I have not seen the trailer in person or tried it out as it is too far away to make more than one trip.
