1995 Ford F150 5.8L stalling in reverse only?
- cleaned IAC, no difference.
- added bottle of trans flush from the seafoam company, then dumped all trans oil incl. Torque convertor.
- replaced trans filter & pan gasket. (filter had not fallen down)
Only happens in reverse gear.
What is causing this?
Torque convertor?
IAC?
?
The transmission is causing this, reverse clutch binding.
Tell the freakshow, i'm not going to work in their G D garrage, they can pay the G D injury, and I'm not being quiet about their lookalike runaround bullcrap, on or off the botnet.
The second answer here sounds pretty good to me. I'm not an auto trans person, a little weak in that dept. But the point is very valid. When you put it into reverse, does it seem to hit hard? From what I'm hearing, it sounds like you need a good trans shop.
- Is a 1995 Ford F150 a good first car? I'm 16 and a friend has a 1995 Ford F150 XLT for sale. It's an extended cab with the 5.0L V8 and 4X4. The body is a little rusty and the current owner said that the frame may be bent. The truck also has 2 fuel tanks. Should I buy it or look for a different one.
- I have a 1995 ford f150 5.8 engine that feels like is misfiring? As I have the truck on park or as I'm on a stop light the truck starts shaking. But it gets worse when I get up to speed the the truck runs fine till I need some more power then it starts shaking again. At times it feels like the transmission is going bad but I took it in and they told me that it was not that, but that it could be a bad ignition coil. What do you guys think? I cleaned the egr valve and it did not fix anything.
- 99 Ford F250 will only reverse. If change gear to drive, it is powerless. What is wrong? If I change it to drive, it does nothing, if I step on the gas pedal, it will move slowly or sometimes no even moving. Reverse is fine, working great.
