Why does my car floor itself and shut off after driving a lot?

I have a 96 Ford explorer 5.0 v8 and it floods itself when I drive alot. Like for example yesterday after I replaced the tie rods I went to the closest alignment shop to my house 12 miles away. It drove fine on the way there. When I pulled it on the rack it was fine and it started right up when I moved bays to get a new tire and back to the Bay to get an alignment. When the alignment was done i started it and pulled out of the Bay and it shut off and was flooded. Only code it's reading is for the egr system. I don't know if it is because of that. Any help as to why it does this would be great. All I can do when it happened is let as much out as I can then let it sit for about 20 mins.

Ford has had a huge problem with vapor lock. That is your problem.

E85 wrecked your fuel system.

Fix the EGR code. EGR is likely sticking open and the O2 sensor senses more air and the ECU adds more fuel to the cylinders.

  • Why does my car shut off with too much pressure on the steering wheel? I have a 1990 Ford Tempo. I replaced the ignition to starter cable on it, as it would randomly shut off when taking a hard right due to corrosion on it. However, it still randomly shuts off when too much pressure is applied to the steering wheel. I was suspecting that maybe it is the ignition switch, but I don't have the money to go to a mechanic at the moment. Has anyone else had this problem? And how was it fixed?
  • Bubbling/Gurgling sound a for a few seconds after car is shut off? Ok, so, I have a 2007 Ford Taurus SE. I just had to have the head gaskets replaced due to the engine overheating and blowing them, the car has been running fine since, but, now, any time I go 15 miles or more, and return home, for a few seconds after I shut off the car I can hear a Bubbling/Gurgling sound behind the glove box on the passenger side. I have read and some say it might be trapped air… Any ideas? Is this a serious problem?
  • After driving Ford Ranger, high mileage, 10 miles and at normal operating temp, I park overnight on level concrete floor. I check oil level? Next day before starting and when I pull dipstick out, oil level is at full mark. I wipe the dipstick clean and re-insert and check oil level again, the oil level is down about 1/8th inch or so. I check it once more and get same reading. Is the crankcase full or do I need to add some oil? Just to be clear, since this is an older Ranger with over 170,000 miles, I use high mileage oil and I check the oil level regularly. It doesn't use oil after just 10 miles of driving.
  • Why does my keyless remote entry/alarm reset itself? I have a 2002 ford mustang. I have to program the remote to the cars factory alarm system every time. It will only stay programmed for an hour or less. It is not the remote because I've tested it on another ford vehicle and the battery is still good. Also the theft light sometimes stays on and sometimes it will blink.
