Does the 1995-2001 Ford Explorer continue to roll over even with good tires?
This is something I get confused on. I'm looking for a Ford Explorer that does not have a large rate of rolling over. I want a Ford Explorer from the model years of 1995 to 2001 because I like the way it looks. Even so most explorers these days are not equipped with Firestone tires but even so are the Ford Explorers from 1995 to 2001 currently rollover even with good tires (ex. Goodyear)
Hi It simply is not the tyres or the truck that cause the roll over issue it is a driver who does not take into account the forces of engineering, centrifugal force when cornering will roll over any truck. This fact of life seems to escape most young and stupid people.
Good tyres - the better they are the more grip they have - will increase the risk of roll over as opposed to cheap tyres with less grip that will slide instead of grip and roll. Don't try to drive it like a car and high speed corner and there goes the worry of rolling. Also use good tyres - grip and stopping speed is more important then roll factor.
- What is most harder to find a 1995-2001 Ford Explorer or a 1993 to 1997 Ford Ranger? I need to know which vehicle is more easier to find nowadays and 1993 to 97 Ford Ranger or I 95 to 2001 Ford Explorer.
- Did the Ford Ranger roll over when it was equipped with Firestone tires? I know of a Ford Explorer use to roll over in the nineties because it was equipped with tire blow out of Firestone tires. Ford Ranger at the time were also equipped with Firestone tires. If a Ford Ranger is equipped with Firestone tires is it really possible for it to roll over like the Ford Explorer.
- Is a 1995 - 2001 second generation Ford Explorer dangerous or safe? No I have been reading that Ford Explorers will roll over even with good tires or bad tires (notably Firestone). Will the Ford Explorer rollover with tires made other than Firestone and is in a very safe or very dangerous unstable vehicle?
- I press the gas hard from a slow roll and it does nothing at first and then engages? I was making a left turn and as you know you have to wait for other cars, when I accelerated I accelerated hard and the car just stopped for a moment and then engaged. I have a 1998 FORD explorer 4x4 with 89k miles. Any help?
