Can I install after market tow package to a vehicle with a factory installed tow package?

I have a 2010 Ford Explorer with a factory installed tow package. I had bought a different tow package that had a larger weight capacity for towing my trailer. I then realized the factory tow package is welded on. Is it possible to install the after market one still?

(1) if you want to remove the welded on hitch and (2) IF! The new hitch does not go over the weight limit for the vehicle

Its possible by grinding off old one and fitting new. However the manufacturer will have a fitted towing pack suitable for max limit of vehicle. Thus nothing to be gained ( unless we want to exceed safe towing limits and invalidate insurance ) therefore nothing to be gained and when passing vehicle along… Will reduce its value too.
better of trading car in for a heavier one.
many not aware its not size of engine or towing capability of the 'tow pack' that needs to be taken into account .rather its the weight of our tow vehicle that determines pulling capacity.
so check out vehicles that an tow your weight as a base line. Then work form there. Or get a lighter towing weight.
