2000-ford sport track explorer. Air shocks or just heavy duty shocks all around the vehicle

Got some air shocks for free and they will fit my truck but i do not want them to blow if i load it up or hit a big pothole.
will they ride like regular shocks or are the good heavy duty ones better.
some are 17.00 each and others are 60.00 each… Air shocks where free…
if i use air shocks in back what should i put on front? I never carry over 300 pounds.

Air shocks will make it ride rougher. If your not going to be hauling heavy objects, or pulling a heavy trailer, just use regular shocks.

PUT MONROE SHOCKS ON THE FRONT.

Air shocks can be useful on the rear end if you haul some weight around and want to level the rear end. I like the LT shocks they sell at Advance Auto. Not the bottom entry level cheap ones, the good ones are around $30 a piece. Very good ride and no heavy recoil or bounce like the cheap ones that I tried first. Put four on my '91 Silverado a few years ago and the difference was remarkable over the OEM shocks.
