Which car would best suit my needs? A Dodge Charger or a Ford Expedition?

I've even saving my money for quite some time and I have about $15,000. I have narrowed it down to two options but the differences between a fast car and a big truck draw me to each of them.

The first option is a 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 with 80,000 miles on it. I like the idea of a fast car but I would have to sacrifice the 3rd row seat that I might need in the future.

Second option is a 2010 Ford Expedition that has been lifted and has larger tires than stock. This is a big truck and it has 4WD capability. I wouldn t need the largeness of the truck for much more than just impressing my friends.

Both vehicles are very attractive options for mainly the same reasons. They both have the ability to do things the other doesn't. Whether or not I would use that very often doesn't matter that much to me. Does anyone know some pros and cons of both or something that could help me out?

I have no idea what your needs are.

I think you've already nailed the pros and cons of each. Do you want a large vehicle that can tow and haul things? Or do you want a fast car that barely even has a back seat?

The ford would cost more to fix when something on it breaks and the tires cost way more than the charger tires would.

Clearly, you have no idea what your needs are, as there are pretty much NO needs for a vehicle that can be met by both.

And, both are incredibly rotten vehicles.

In all reality, how often will you need the 3rd row of seating in the Expedition? If the answer isn't, "at least a couple times a week," then do you really need them? And even if you DO have a bunch of kids in the future, are you really going to try to deal with their car seats etc., in a lifted truck? Let me rephrase that - it is a certainly that you will quickly tire of dealing with car seats in a lifted truck. So the "usefulness" of the Expedition's interior and size is mostly irrelevant in your situation.

Things like acceleration, handling, ride, those are all things you'd notice every day you drive whatever you buy. That Charger does all those things far better than the Expedition will. I'd say buy what makes the most sense the most often. You're the one who has to live with it, who cares what your friends who aren't paying a penny for either of them think about them.

Depends how many miles the expedition has. 80k for a charger srt is kind of a lot. Those big v8s don't last very long and when things start going they aren't cheap to fix
