Is Ford Expedition the most reliable SUV ever?

Is Ford Expedition the most reliable SUV ever?

Hell no

'ever' is a long time… Even for a Ford.

The Tahoe and its twin brother Yukon are more reliable than the Expedition.

Fords are inherently unreliable. Asian built cars blow them away.

My 2008 Expedition has been extremely reliable.

No

No.

And just so you know… None of the big SUVs are inherently reliable (like the Yukon or Suburban), nor are Toyotas.

All of those SUVs have very high prices. This means that they are bought by wealthy people and usually kept for a long time. They are treated nice, garage kept, well maintained, and regularly washed.

When it comes time to sell them, they usually have high retained value because not many are on the market and most are kept nice. That means the less wealthy will also maintain them better. Things like bad transmissions, major engine work, major suspension work, etc that would simply send a normal vehicle to a scrapyard are repaired… Partly because of the expense and hassle to replace the vehicle, but also because of its PERCEIVED reliability.

Strikes against the Expedition are its VCT OHC V8s which are more complex and failure prone than GMs LS V8, and Ford's slightly weaker transmissions.

Truth is, the most reliable SUV is one that's maintained and cared for.

Landcruiser will be my pick

It's a Ford. I hope this is a troll. I guess it's probably more reliable than a Chevy Suburban though.

  • What is the most reliable car brand? I know how long a car runs/how reliable it is, all has to do with the owner and how well said car is maintained… But generally, what car brand (eg Ford, Toyota, Chevy) lasts the longest, is the most reliable?
  • What are the most reliable cars you can think of? I want something relatively new, but it doesn't have to be brand spanking new. So far I was thinking a Volkswagen Jetta. I was also liking Subaru, but I don't know whether the impreza or legacy is better. I also like Ford Crown Victoria/Mercury Grand Marquis'. Are Jeep wranglers reliable as well? Mention any car you like and why, Hmu with your best suggestion!
  • What are the most reliable car brands and which ones should I avoid? I'm looking to get a used car. I have even heard about two lesser known Japanese brands, Subaru and Suzuki, but I'm a bit skeptical of Suzuki in particular. I'm honestly not a supporter of Mitsubishi and Mazda. I would not say having AWD/4WD is necessary for me. It is not very snowy where I live. The reason I said that I do not like Mazda was because it used to be partnered with Ford and I do not like American car companies. I'm not so keen on German cars.
  • Most reliable transit van 2001-2004? I'm looking to buy a ford transit van for my landscaping company either swb or lwb not really to bothered. I just want to know what the best most reliable engine is to go for? I would like a little bit of poke but not essential would rather reliability.
