I have a 1998 ford expedition with a 5.4l engine. It hesitates alot?
It will rev up but has no power and knocks alot. It feels like it want to go but it won't. The muffler gurgles. What can it be. I changed the sparkplugs yesterday and its worse.
Get a new car it's dying on you.
Two of the the most neglected parts of a ford system for some reason are the distributor cap and the fuel filter. Both of these cause hesitations in the V-8 engines. If you don't find it there look at a new set of wires
Disconnect the mass airflow sensor and re-check, it may be dirty and giving bad readings to the pcm

It doesn't go pass 25 mph but will reach 5 rpms! Changed spark plugs and wires! Also changed coil pack! Both converters are working properly! Check engine light is not on! Doesn't run hot! Tire pressure indicator comes on though! Not sure what my next step is! I need help!
- Why does my 04 Ford Mustang hesitates to accelerate? My car stars up great and the transmission seems to work perfectly. However when I hit the gas, my cars hesitates to speed up. It vibrates to shift gears if I go easy on it. If i go a little hard it pulls back and then makes the shift. I have notice that when it is hesitating to accelerate I can help him by hitting the brake just for a sec and the hit the gas. Note; it has an automatic transmission. Sorry if i did not explain well.
- I have a 61 plate Ford Focus mk3 and I've noticed there's a hell of alot of water in the boot where the spare wheel is kept? The rear passenger side floor is also soaking wet so I don't know if these are connected or not. Hopefully someone's has experienced this before and can give me a clue to what it is.
- Ford focus 1.4 zetec engine hesitates? When driving in a straight line the car drives fine, but when it comes to slowing down to make a left or right turn the car tends to hesitate or judder, as if the fuel pump is loosing pressure or the gas tank is running low. Have replaced the filter and given the car a service. But still same problem.
