First car Ford expedition vs excursion?

(and girls) I have a question. I've been looking at first cars for me, I'm 15 heading into highschool. Unrelated I have a project lifted 86' fiero, an amazing 95' f150, and a lifted 94' Miata. (redneck area, gotta lift it or I'll be just another hairdresser) but I want a "daily". I have my eye on a 1999 Ford expedition with a blown trans. I could get that and fix it for under $1500 and have a great running expedition, or I could save/wait for a good deal on a excursion v10. What are the main differences between the two engines/drivetrains/amenities/daily luxuries/ and anything else I should know about the difference between the two vehicles. I'm probably looking at the 1999-2005 years. I'm looking for big and loud, is the expedition really that much smaller than the excursion? Also I would prefer leather seats so when I'm done swimming I don't have to worry about drying off. Just hop in an bounce. They get about the same mpg right? Its probably gonna cost me $15 in gas just to get to town but I have a good job so that's fine. Also I've heard the expedition 4wd isn't true 4wd, I would like something that has more of a truck platform like the excursion cause 4wd is very helpful in the winter where I live. Snow, ice, mud, and one steep *** driveway to get home. Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Will

PS there's no way I'm getting a Chevy… No the Blazer or suburban.

PPS the picture is of the love of my life. A 1995 Ford f150 with the 5.8 V8 First car Ford expedition vs excursion

Expedition. Get the 2018 one. Best SUV ever

Those two are basically the same vehicle with different names. The V-10 is really not needed unless you are pulling something big. Side Note: The Explorer transitioned to an independent rear suspension around 2002, which makes it very hard to 'lift'. And, I think the mid-'90's look better anyway!

Make your own decision because there's obviously no point reasoning with a dumbass 15 year old kid whose main criteria for a vehicle is "big and loud".

I'm assuming you're American since you like lifted pickups. There's no point reasoning with you. We all know statistically speaking that Asian cars are the best but you like Ford so…

No those cars do not drink gas that much. Get a Yukon or a Tahoe.

  • Tow capacity on a 2003 Ford Excursion 6.0 diesel? I have a 6.0 diesel excursion and would like to know the tow capacity. It has a new torque converter, a new turbo, egr delete, a 4 inch exhaust, a 6 inch all suspension lift, and 38x16.5 tires.
  • Is a ford excursion worth it? I'm looking to buy a 2000 to 2005 Ford excursion diesel. Is it worth it getting it? What's the MPG I can expect from it?
  • Hunting: They totaled my 2010 Ford Expedition. Should I get a new expedition or an Escalade? The insurance told the collision center that it is not worth it. I really like my rental 2019 Escalade that I have been using. Should I buy a new Escalade or a new expedition? We have enough for a 2019. Not getting used. We will get about $10,000 for the expedition. I'm just glad nobody was hurt.
  • 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer for First Car? So I'm 18 and looking at this expedition for my first car? Should I get it or something smaller. I've always wanted a truck with a third row and an engine that sat up off the ground (flood prone area). And little cars and sedans make me nervous accident wise And the the price is very affordable for a very comfy truck. But I'm on the the short and skinny side and don't want to be made fun of. Also the gas and maintenance ( brakes) costs are a concern. What do you guys think?
